JOSEPH ANDREWS is Henry Fieldings satire of "virtue in peril." In 18th century England, innocent Joseph is besieged by the desires of high and low born women who find him irresistible. Nevertheless, the innocent Joseph strives to keep his honor unsullied for the lovely maiden he intends to marry. This comic farce careens with comic characters to paint a lively picture of power, station, charity, chastity and earthly action.
