New Amsterdam Opera will be performing Donizetti's rarely performed masterpiece La favorita on One Night Only - Saturday, June 2, 2018, 7:00 PM, at The Center at West Park in the Sanctuary Theater.

This production of La favorita will be the first production for which New Amsterdam Opera will be using the orchestral materials and notes that have been shared with the company by Opera Orchestra of New York and Eve Queler. OONY last performed this masterpiece 17 years ago, in 2001. The cast for that performance included the late Dmitri Hvorostovsky as Alfonso XI. New Amsterdam Operas production is dedicated to the memory of this beloved artist.
