HSC Hunger Banquet

A Hunger Banquet is meant to showcase the struggles that many impoverished people around the world go through on a daily basis. During the Hunger Banquet participants are split into 3 groups, and assigned a class based on poverty statistics that reflect the status of our world today. Participants are then fed according to the group they are assigned.

Few students will ever experience the type of intense poverty the Hunger Banquet showcases, and this event would be a unique opportunity for them to develop a connection to the 795 million+ people in the world who are often forgotten in the chaos of our privileged everyday lives.

The hope is to inspire those who attend to do more for their community and other communities around the world. We hope to bring attention to the issue of hunger internationally, domestically, and hyperlocally by utilizing this partnership with Americana and supporting them and their efforts through increased awareness of their services and the donation of proceeds this event raises.
