Directing Class at Bangor Community Theatre
Is there a director inside you? Have you always wondered, what does a theatre director DO, anyway? Or maybe youve directed a show or two, but would like to polish, improve, and expand on your skills. Either way, this class is for you! (Some prior stage experience, in some capacity, is necessary.)
This six-week course will meet on Wednesdays from March 7 to April 11 (ends before April school vacation week), from 6:00-8:30 pm at The Historic Bangor Grange Hall, 1192 Ohio St., Bangor.
Topics that will be covered include: selecting a script; production and rehearsal scheduling; working with designers; how to create a positive working environment in the rehearsal room; warm-ups and theatre games; and what should (and should not) be expected at each phase of the rehearsal process. Members of the class will act in each others scenes, so some basic acting techniques will be covered as well. Our last class will be a showcase, i.e. showing of scenes so far, open to friends and family. This is an exciting, affordable opportunity for all local theatre folks!
Course fee: $85.00 for non-members of BCT, $50.00 for members Advance registration and pre-payment is required
There are 12 spaces available, if we get more than 12 people who are interested we will set up a second class.
Bangor Community Theatre welcomes new members who are committed to helping with productions and fundraising in the coming year.
If you are not currently a BCT member but are willing to commit to the above listed efforts for the 2018 calendar year then choose the $55 ticket price this will include the cost of the class and your membership dues.
