Delta in the Sky With Diamonds or Maybe Not -- Austin Pendleton and June Daniel White star in an original, offbeat comedy about God, a woman, and love. Humans have had many imagined conversations with God. This is the conversation God was waiting to have. He was waiting for Delta -- a feisty, big-hearted woman who has a lot to teach the Almighty.
Their conversation is an adventure in 1 hour and 45 minutes, no intermission, so fasten your seat belts and join the ride.
Responses from the Audience: Iorgo Papoutsas -- producer, director and actor -- February 4, 2018: Hey Folks! Today I saw DELTA IN THE SKY WITH DIAMONDS OR MAYBE NOT by June Daniel White at Theater 54 (Shetler Studios & Theatres). Highly recommended, a very refined and witty work, full of those special moments in life we usually disregard or take them for granted. I have to admit this play cought me off guard and made me teary-eyed at certain sublime moments. Very well-written, acted and directed. And btw, I encountered some great actors that I happen to know for a while (like the skillful fine actor Vincent Ticali). In short, a sparkly gem to be seen, go and get your tickets. (y)
Kay -- February 4, 2018: If you love theater that makes you think, see Delta in the Sky with Diamonds Or Maybe Not. Delta is absorbing, ambitious, clever, delightful, enchanting. This play is so needed at this time! It's relevant, unpredictable, and despite the serious message, done with a light touch (love the humor and whimsy, and especially the magical quality). I was charmed and mystified.
Nancy T -- February 4, 2018: This is a play to see if you appreciate great acting and thoughts about life and death. I found it funny, clever, great acting, intelligent, and thought-provoking.
Fr. Owen Lafferty -- February 5, 2018 at 11:49 pm: Kudos! to June Daniel White and to her recently staged play, Delta in the Sky with Diamonds Or Maybe Not. Akin to many literary attempts to grapple with the reality of God by believers, June shares a universal and tangibly personal struggle of fitting God into one persons experience of real life. Delta, in the person of June Daniel White, raises all the right questions and gives equal opportunities for God, Austin Pendleton, to respond in a deeply existential, quasi-metaphysical conversation. The cast of Delta is a marvelous ensemble of characters portraying so many people who touch each others lives. The actors give equally powerful, supportive performances. For all who have had questions about God will recognize the serious issues raised in Delta as very much their own and, through honest reflection by all thinking believers.
