Medicine Making 1: Teas, Tinctures and vinegars
This is a comprehensive intensive workshop on how to make the three most important herbal preparations in western herbalism. We will make and press a tincture and a vinegar in class, and participants will go home with one ounce of each.
- standardized tincture making from fresh and dried herbs - determining what strength alcohol should be used in tincture making - general dosages - what plants go well with each preparation - how to make infused vinegars - how to make both infusions and decoctions and way they can be used
This is a hands on class, so bring an apron if you'd like to participate without getting colorful vinegar on your clothes. Also bring a pen and something to take notes on.
