2017 November MYAN Youth Leadership Conference
The Maine Youth Action Network strategically collaborates, convenes, and partners to build: (1) young people's leadership on issues of social justice, restorative practices, and public health; and (2) the capacity of adults, organizations, and systems to use positive youth development and social-emotional learning principles in their work with youth.
Since 1999 MYAN has hosted a statewide youth leadership summit aimed at celebrating and developing youth leadership from across the state. Regularly attended by over 300 youth and their advisers from all over Maine, the Youth Leadership Conference is designed to engage and support young people in having a positive impact on issues directly affecting their lives. At the event, young people will have the chance to connect with other youth leaders, celebrate their successes, and get support and feedback on their community change projects. Adult allies will be able to connect with other advisors, learn and share with their peers, and build a network of adults who do the important work of supporting young people's leadership.
We appreciate the time and commitment it takes to attend this conference and would like to present a sliding scale of $75-100 for registration. Paying at the higher end of the scale helps us offset the cost making the conference more accessible to a wider audience. Thank you for supporting this work together!
