Woodshop 11
The 11th iteration of this annual bottle-sharing beer geek extravaganza.
The Woodshop Tasting is fashioned as an indulgent beer connoisseur's beer festival and bottle-share. It is organized and run as a sort of underground beer nerd event by a small group of longtime, dedicated LA-area beer lovers, and is designed to showcase the best of what the craft beer world can offer, both locally and globally.
Woodshop events have developed a bit of a reputation in the Southern California craft beer community as some of the most fun, most over-the-top beer events where playful, passionate indulgence in craft beer reigns supreme-- or, as the old saying goes, "These go to eleven." So here we are.
Woodshop 11 will be held on Saturday, 11/11 from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM at North Park Beer Co. in San Diego, CA. NPBC is an amazing venue for this event, with a beautifully designed craftsman-style interior brewpub space, with vaulted ceilings, an upstairs mezzanine, and many wonderful beers brewed and served onsite, plus the in-house Mastiff Sausage Co. serving elevated pub fare throughout the tasting room. Kelsey McNair, Owner/Brewer of North Park Beer Co., is a longtime Woodshop supporter and attendee, and he is an old school San Diego homebrew legend (his Hop-Fu! Homebrew recipe won Gold Medal three times at the National Homebrew Competition in extremely competitive IPA categories, making it the most-decorated beer ever at NHC before he went pro). He and his staff have graciously opened their doors for us for what is sure to be a spectacular event.
These are "private, open-invitation" events, which means the venues are closed to the public for the duration of the party, and the invitations and guest lists are managed via the party organizers initially. But basically, if you *know* about it, you're invited. So feel free to pass along information about the party to any friends you know who would embrace the spirit of the event, who are enthusiastic about the craft beer community, and who are curious to experience the best of what the beer world can be. Every year, the crowd consists of a good percentage of repeat Woodshop attendees, but also every year there is a sizable turnover of "new blood" whose eyes are opened and minds are blown, and who are vital to the energy and passion of the day.
This year's party will feature much of the same Woodshop goodness of years past, with a nice variety of carefully selected draft offerings (unlimited taster pours of event-specific beers-- at least 20+beers on tap), special cask-conditioned beers, a massive bottle-share, and many other twists and wrinkles like beer-and-cheese pairings, blind tasting "showdowns", custom beer infusions and beer blends, and probably another surprise or two we're working on. As always, we encourage all guests to bring a bottle or few (or more) of the best beers from your cellar to share with any and all in attendance. We like to think of this tasting as a perfect occasion to sample those special bottles you've been saving for just the right moment.
Tickets are $65 pre-paid per ticket, which includes unlimited draft beer pours for event-specific beers during the event, one custom Woodshop snifter, and access to the bottle-share, PLUS a ticketed meal from Mastiff Sausage Co. (redeemable during the event once the kitchen opens at noon). The bottle-share will include all of the usual Woodshop goodies like artisanal cheeses, beer floats, blind tasting showdowns, and a few other special treats we are working on.

You will be asked to provide a first and last name for every ticket you purchase. These names must be unique so that each guest's name can be added to the list at the door for check-ins.
Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable. This is purely to assure the best, least expensive, and most bang-for-your-buck event for all, and to eliminate any kind of secondary market in the (likely) event of a sell-out. If you bought a ticket and cannot attend, please get in touch with us at info@woodshopbeer.com, and we will do our best to find a replacement from our Wait List.
