Event
Brooklyn Chess Champ
Brooklyn has long held a special position in chess circles. Whether the tradition of European or Russian immigrants, top-notch high school teams or the legacy of Bobby Fisher. Brooklyn is a place on the Chess Map. This contest, the first of its kind, is intended to burnish that luster. Bringing it back to Brooklyn as it were. The game plan is simple. Play chess against a variety of competition and let the creme rise to the top. There is total prize pool of $2,000 (based on and proportional to registrations) allocated to first, second and third place.
This event will be sanctioned by the U.S. Chess Federation and membership in the USCF is mandatory to participate.
USCF Grand Master Maurice Ashley will be doing live commentary of the event.
