A Piece of Me: A Jermaine Smith Stageplay
A Piece of Me is an dramatic, comedic, and inspirational stage play that will make you think, laugh, and cry as you see real life (yours or someone you know) played out on the stage.
The production grapple with forgiveness, infidelity, alcoholism, homelessness, honesty, as well as verbal and physical abuse. A Piece of Me deals with everyday issues, and offers various viewpoints on change.
The stage play revolves around Bryce King (Brandon Myers) as he struggles with forgiving his father for his many years of verbal, and alleged physical abuse towards the family. Bryce is also the eldest child of three other siblings who struggle in their personal lives with alcoholism, lesbianism & fornication.
A Piece of Me was birthed out of writer/producer/director Jermaine Smith's personal testimony. The hesitancy to forgive his mother for her many years of substance abuse has developed into a stage play that has mentored to thousands in just only 23 shows thus far. Jermaine's mother has since found God and is delivered from drugs.
A Piece of Me has been performed @ The Shawnee Playhouse, Poconos, Pa., The Crossroads Theatre, New Brunswick, NJ, The Playhouse on the Green, Bridgeport, CT, The Lovingher Theatre @ Lehman College, Bronx, NY, The Oberia D. Dempsey Center, Harlem, NY, Brooklyn, NY, as well as Syracuse, NY, Hartford and New Haven, CT.
