Hysterically poignant, When We Have Gone Astray provides an entertaining look at the modern-day struggles of three twenty-something New Yorkers in the current economic recession. In the play, Ira Trask, a lonely and struggling actor, decides that New Years Eve, 2008 will be his last day in New York Cityand what a better way to break in the new year than with a holiday hooker. Only one problem: she turns out to be an old flame from his childhood, Cassie, who has just been turned out onto the street. Cassie and Iras unpredictable reunion is mediated by Keith, a trust fund baby who now delivers pizzas after losing all his money to Ponzi-schemer Bernie Madoff. During the course of the evening, Cassie, Ira and Keith all humorously struggle to face the many compromises they must make during this troubling American recession.
Featuring Heather Lee Harper, Joseph Mancuso, & Brandon Walker.
