Screening of Joao Amorim's "Water and Cooperation"
Inspired by the theme chosen by the United Nations World Water Day 2013, the short film WATER AND COOPERATION proposes an interdisciplinary look at water that points towards the need for a radical shift in our relationship to this element that is the basis of all life on our planet. Afterwards, a discussion will take place between the film's director, Joao Amorim, Tiokasin Ghosthorse, and others to be announced.
Through the means of interviews with authorities, scientists, activists, farmers and leaders from various fields, "Water and Cooperation" shows how we can develop a new relationship with water that takes into account its social, political and spiritual dimensions, fostering cooperation and inclusion while overcoming the utilitarian look towards this element. The film features testimonies from personalities like Dr. Amit Goswami, Dr. Vicente Andreu, Benke Ashaninka, the late Dr. Masaru Emoto, Vandana Shiva, Leonardo Boff, Nelton Friedrich, Sri Prem Baba, Maria Alice Freire, Brazilian Defense Minister Celso Amorim, IPCC Carlos Nobre, among many others.
