Event
Neoclassicism in Britain at the V&A
This Art Shot will look at the influence of the Mediterranean on eighteenth century Georgian Britain, when the archaeological discoveries of Antiquity informed everything from teapots to interiors, as Brits were captivated by ideas and styles brought home from the Grand Tour. We will look at a reconstructed interior by the ubiquitous Scottish architect Robert Adam and ceramics by Josiah Wedgewood as well as some examples of painting and sculpture and much more.
