Tennessee Wine at Market Square in Krutch Park
Come taste and purchase local wines for the holidays at Tennessee Wine on Market Square! The Vineyard Association of Tennessee (VAT) in collaboration with Nourish Knoxville will be hosting local Tennessee farm-wineries and wineries that sell wines made from at least 95% Tennessee fruit during the Market Square Farmers' Market on Saturday, November 15, 2014 from 10:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Tasting tickets are $10. The tastings will be held in Krutch Park Extension, where patrons can taste a variety of wines by multiple East Tennessee wineries, as well as purchase bottles of wine to take home. Market Square Farmer's Market Director, Charlotte Tolley says, "We have been very pleased with the wine events and are so happy to partner with VAT to promote local wine at the MSFM. We have been able to introduce the community to an aspect of TN agriculture that most people don't consider. Many people have preconceived notions about Southern wine. Through these events, VAT is really showing consumers that a farm grown Tennessee wine isn't confined to being a sweet muscadine, but a true variety, from lovely ports to crisp whites." As the holiday season begins, there are several Tennessee wines that would be perfect for gatherings and parties. There are several dry, semi-sweet, and sweet available at the market. Swing by Tennessee Wine at Market Square as you spend a lovely November morning shopping at the farmers' market for Thanksgiving, and make sure that your wine glass is half full this holiday season.
