Gunpowder, Treason and Plot: Conspiracies to Kill the King
On this Art Shot we will learn about conspiracies and riots that have been revolting their way through Westminster since the days of William Conqueror. Guy Fawkes will of course play a star role, and in the process we'll have a good look at the Houses of Parliament, to see what happened when they actually were burnt down in the 19th century. Had Fawkes succeeded in his mission to blow up King James' I then what would have happened to Britain had the King been killed? Forty-four years later Britain found out. James' son, King Charles I, stepped out onto a balcony from the nearby Whitehall Banqueting House, and was decapitated in front of a horrified, gasping population.

If you cancel within a week of the event, half the cost of the tour will be refunded. If you cancel within 24 hours of the tour, we regret that we will not be able to refund any of the cost. Please note that we can only run this tour if we have an attendance of 5 people. If we have to cancel the tour we will give a week's notice.
