It was a heavy year for the Absinthe Films crew and not just for stacking shots. With quality snow in short supply and sketchy snowpack in many places, tracking down the goods was frustrating, consequential, and mentally draining. Thus Heavy Mental. But with 22 years of snowboard video production, director Justin Hostynek still delivers some of the most progressive riding of the year. While the entire rider list is solid, lean forward for standout shredding when you see Sweetin, Merrill, Victor De Le Rue, and Diaz's names cross the screen.
