Belly Dance Off 2014 Grand Championship!
Competing for titles, trophies, tiaras and cash, six finalists will arrive in their best costumes, draw songs at random from a hat, and perform un-choreographed to live music by House of Tarab. Judges Elisa Gamal, Sabura, and Shannon DanceExpert present live feedback. Audience and judges vote to decide the championship. Guests enjoy the delicious menu and cocktails at great prices in the opulent dinner show lounge of Club Hollywood Casino, with live video projections and plenty of parking. At halftime, guests are invited to dance with the band, with a special prize for the best shimmies!
Described as the "American Idol" of belly dance, Belly Dance Off is a multidimensional show exploring the secrets of entertaining and polished performance entirely improvised to live music.
A dancer participant explains, "...this is truly one of Seattle's best events. After seeing the dancers in such a professional environment with live musicians and hearing the judge feedback, my non-belly dancer friends and family in the audience now appreciate what I do as a fine art. And because the audience is scoring, they didn't feel intimidated watching and were compelled to pay attention to the detail."
Belly Dance Off is a Suzanna & Friends production touring the NW between Seattle and Portland. After years of performing, teaching, and international training, belly dance artist Suzanna launched Belly Dance Off in 2010 to elevate the art form in America.
