Getting to Net-Zero Energy
We'll examine design strategies for reaching net zero highlighting case studies and best practices for integrated design. You'll learn architectural and engineering approaches to achieve Net-Zero energy, the importance of shared building resources, and the steps involved in conducting an aggressive energy efficiency campaign.
The presentation will also address the integral role commissioning plays in verification of the design intent, and best practices for educating occupants to ensure systems operate efficiently. Andy will share personal insights on how to reduce conflict and balance client expectation with user behavior.
Speaker Bio: Andy Frichtl, PE, LEED AP Managing Principal, Sr. Mechanical Engineer, Interface Engineering Andy is well known in the world of architecture and infrastructure as a leader in sustainable design. He specializes in energy efficiency and resource conservation, and has been the recipient of numerous awards. As a Managing Principal at Interface Engineering, he has designed many LEED Platinum and Net-Zero buildings, and is an active member of CEFPI, ASHRAE, the Cascadia USGBC, and the Building Commissioning Association. In addition to his frequent participation in local educational forums, he has also presented at several naional and regional conferences.
