The Ruth Asawa San Francisco School of the Arts High School is pleased to once again present our annual Fall College Financial Planning Seminar.
This year our speaker will be Lynn O'Shaughnessy, a nationally recognized college expert and the author of The College Solution: A Guide for Everyone Looking for the Right School at the Right Price. Lynn, a former Los Angeles Times reporter, is the college contributor at CBS MoneyWatch and she writes about college at her own popular blog - The College Solution.
Lynn will share her perspective on the financial side of college, and her #1 goal on Oct. 8 will be to empower families to make smart college decisions. Here are a few of the topics that she will cover:
* Four biggest sources of college money: where not to waste your time
* Why it's not just "A" students who can earn significant aid and grants
* How to use great online tools to find colleges that represent the best financial and academic fits
* Learn strategies that teens can use to increase their admission chances
* The real story behind college rankings
* How to throw a wider net when looking for colleges
* How colleges deal with divorce, home equity and multiple children in aid calculation

* Best ways to borrow for college
* Negotiating for better colleges awards
Join us starting at 6:30pm in the Theater Lobby, where light refreshments will be sold prior to the seminar. Lynn's presentation will start promptly at 7:00pm.
Food and beverages are not allowed in the Dan Kryston Memorial Theater.
