I am a New York City-based standup comic. My Irish immigrant mother and garbage man father told me and my five siblings that if we got educated and worked hard then life would reward us. Life is rewarding the Kardashians and those freaks of The Jersey Shore.
People ask "What does a gal from New Jersey have to do to make it in the biz?" Apparently, she has "to do" a governor from New York.
I'm a regular at Carolines on Broadway, one of the country's premiere comedy clubs. I perform at venues throughout the United States and the world. I've opened for Joy Behar, Steven Wright, and Rosie O'Donnell. I've appeared on Gotham Live, Comics Unleashed, HBO, in the Paramount Pictures film "Marci X," and in national commercials.
I host a weekly radio talk show called Hangin' with Langan on KGO, San Francisco's premiere radio station.
Prior to my life as a comic, I was a broadcast journalist. I got into journalism because I had questions. Now all you need is cleavage. I covered politics and issues at PBS. I created and hosted Bloomberg TV & Radio's entertainment programming. I satirized world news and did man-on-the-street and celebrity interviews. Some astute people named me Best Female Commentator in NYC.
I've chatted with Howard Stern, Joan Rivers, John Cleese, Phyllis Diller, George Carlin and many others.
Because of my blend of journalism and comedy, I am a frequent guest commentator on the tube. I've been on Fox's Red Eye, ABC, MSNBC, Cozi TV, The Joy Behar Show, and The Onion.
The Manhattan Association of Clubs and Cabarets (MAC) voted me Best Female Comic, which means the gay boys dig me, and I dig them. They tell me I'm the first woman in nearly two decades to finish in the top three in the San Francisco Comedy Competition. The last one was Ellen Degeneres.
Some people have said nice things about me. A few have not. For now the nice will suffice:
