knees and toes/NYs and TOs Edition 2014- MISSISSAUGA
"Dance is many things, but in its ideal form it communicates ideas, provokes thought, initiates social change and rejuvenates the human spirit. At its best, it's understood, appreciated and experienced by people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities."
'knees and toes/NYs and TOs' Edition 2014, produced by TOES for dance (toesfordance.ca) and presented by mindyourmind* (mindyourmind.ca), will showcase performing artists from NYC and Toronto in several short works by new generation and established choreographers from around the world. Edition 2014 is completely reinvented for this year with new artists and choreography!
As a smorgasbord of contemporary performance (dance and theatre), the concert is designed to make contemporary dance accessible to new audiences by striking a balance between innovation and entertainment. Prepare to laugh, cry and think!
The artists will offer spoken interludes throughout the performance to provide important contextual information. There will also be a post-performance Q&A session with the artists! Our aim is to demystify contemporary dance for our audiences and to allow all attendees to appreciate the content on stage. Come one, come all!
