Look Back With Glitter: A Queer Prom
SAN FRANCISCO Dust off that powder-blue tuxedo or try on that prom dress you know you always wanted. It's time to polish up your best dance moves and relive high school in the queerest possible way when Metropolitan Community Church of San Francisco, 150 Eureka St., presents Look Back With Glitter: A Queer Prom on Saturday, Sept. 27 from 7-10 p.m.
DJNewRo (a.k.a. Kevin Groves) will spin tunes all night, with music ranging from 40s swing to current pop tunes. Refreshments will be for sale, and attendees can vote ($1 per vote; it's a fundraiser) for Prom Queen and King. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. The prom king and queen will be announced at the dance.
MCCSF, known as a "home for queer spirituality," has been serving the LGBT community of San Francisco and the Bay Area for more than 40 years.
