The Northwest Snow and Avalanche Workshop(NSAW) is a professional development seminar for avalanche workers, and a continuing education opportunity for recreationalists. NSAW is intended for ski patrollers, forecasters, ski guides, search and rescue teams, as well as any number of other occupations that occur on and around snow. The content of NSAW is relevant to professionals and recreationalists alike.
This is a premier event, and the only early-season opportunity for Pacific Northwest Snow geeks and Avalanche freaks to get together to obsess about all things white and cold.
Plan to stay after and enjoy a hosted after-party with New Belgium Beer as well as assorted munchables. This is the last year of ASAP hosting NSAW, so please help to welcome the new Event Producer: The Northwest Avalanche Center!!
Requesting Nominations for The CORE Award.
The Core Award is an award honoring a local backcountry enthusiast that best embodies the true spirit of getting out and getting after it, all day, every day, in all conditions. They may not have the newest gear of drive the fanciest car, but they are the one that you just KNOW are making tracks while you are making breakfast. We want to recognize this commitment to passion with prizes suitable for assisting them in their future efforts: A six pack of PBR (talls), a bean and cheese burrito, and a couple of P-tex sticks, (one white, one black).
You can email me with your nominations and I will post the ones that are the most entertaining for all to see, but will remove the name of the nominee for the sake of privacy.
Cheers, MJ
