Louisiana Roots Rock Guitar Pull Bill Davis, Kevin Gordon, and Monty Russell Bill Davis is the founder, lead guitarist, songwriter, and frontman of the rock band Dash Rip Rock. Davis was recently inducted into the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame. The Austin Chronicle calls him "the brains behind Dash's brawn, a barroom poet with a wicked sense of humor and a shameless knack for a good lick." Davis is often credited as a pioneer in "country punk," "cowpunk," and alt-country music that combines rock with country and outlaw country with punk. He's played the Grand Ole Opry as a guitarist and his 15 records with Dash Rip Rock have been hailed as underground classics. Kevin Gordon is a singer-songwriter who lives in Nashville. Such musical luminaries as Keith Richards, Levon Helm, Irma Thomas and others have performed his work. His latest album "Gloryland" was produced by Joe McMahon Monty Russell is a singer, songwriter, and Americana radio personality based in Northern Louisiana. Russell is also the co-host of the "The Roadhouse," a popular Americana "Y'allternative" radio program on KXKZ 107.5 in Ruston, LA.
