The Mutt and The Monster: The Musical!
The Mutt and the Monster is a children's book series by Carbondale author Amy Krakow, but it is also for dog lovers of all ages. It is the comical tale of canine sibling rivalry. Both the Mutt and the Monster are cast in identical situations but offer very different points of view, portraying themselves as the "underdog" and convinced that their young owner Lucy loves the other one more than herself. Finally, they decide to take her to court to find out who she really loves more - with hilarious results!
In our 2014 Summer Camp, we will be putting on a colorful, magical, musical version of the story - and the students will be in charge of everything! Acting, singing, choreography, set design, costume design, props, lights, sound, and even direction will be handled by our student cast! Under direct supervision of SoL Managing Director, Jennifer Michaud, as well as local actors, art teachers, and designers from up and down the Roaring Fork Valley, your student will have the opportunity to learn what it takes not to just be in a production, but to create every piece of the magic in bringing a new musical to the stage!
