Uncle Bonsai: The Doug Songs

When Uncle Bonsai released their third recording, Myn Ynd Wymyn, in 1986, a centerpiece of their set was the song "Doug At His Mom's." By the time the group took its hiatus, a few years later, two more "Doug" songs were added to the song list: "Doug's First Date" and "Doug Gets Married (Mother of the Bride)". (In fact, "Doug's First Date" was originally subtitled "Uncle Bonsai's Last Song," when the group wasn't sure it would ever perform again.) The years to follow found Andrew adding to the oevre with solo songs, "Doug's First Job," "Doug's Second Proposal," and "Doug at the Gates of Hell," songs for the group Mel Cooleys, "Doug Engaged," "Doug's Divorce: Preamble (Doug and the TV: Part 2)," "Delilah Gets Married," "Doug at Home," and "Doug's Greatest Christmas Ever," and finally, with the 1998 Reunion/Doug Concert, the brand new Uncle Bonsai songs, "Doug's Birthday Song," "Doug Goes To Town," and "Doug's Divorce: Part 2."

Over the past decades, Doug songs have continued to appear and now, on Friday, September 19th, at 8:00 PM PST*, Uncle Bonsai will be performing The Doug Songs, in chronological order, for the first time ever!
