A Standard of Excellence: "Do's & Don'ts" of Working with a Music Producer
CALLING ALL SINGERS AND PRODUCERS! Do you need a music producer to make your songs come to life? Are you a producer trying to "up" your game in the music industry? This workshop is just for you!
"A Standard of Excellence" is for developing independent vocalists/artists and producers. The workshop will highlight best practices while working with a music producer. Noteworthy music producer/musician Kendall Duffie (part of the soul/R&B duo group Kloud 9 and VP of D3 Entertainment Group) will facilitate this engaging workshop discussing a variety of topics related to independent artists working with music producers. In addition, attendees will participate in a live Skype session with celebrity special guests including Soul/Jazz/R&B artist Maysa Leak (formerly with soul/jazz international group Incognito)and gospel recording artist Vicki Yohe. *Light refreshments will be served.

1. How to find and secure a music producer
2. What to expect when working with a music producer
3. Financial expectations when working with a music producer
4. Publishing/royalty splits when working with a producer
5. Skype discussions with celebrity guest artists
6. Small group participation including an opportunity to co-create a "hook" or "verse" with producer Kendall Duffie in order to experience steps to working with a producer.

WHO IS PRODUCER KENDALL DUFFIE?
Kendall Duffie is seasoned music producer, one half of the soul/r&b duo Kloud 9, and the VP of D3 Entertainment Group, a Strategic Marketing, Management, Radio Promotions and Music Production company. Duffie is a music industry veteran with years of experience as a record executive, music producer, songwriter and artist.
A former A&R and Promotions head for Light Records/Compendia Music Group and Zomba label Group where he was responsible for all creative and promotional aspects for the labels.
Owner of the Vibe Room Recording Studio in Nashville, TN; Kendall has produced and recorded a host of artists including Maysa Leak of Incognito, Vicki Yohe, Cece Winans, Pastor Marvin Winans, Althea Rene, Kirk Whalum and many more.
"One of the main things I focus on is consistency of quality from record to record and making records on a world class music business standard both musically and sonically. I also aspire to educate new artists that I work with on the basic principles of this business to equip them with a realistic understanding of how this business works."
