The West Side on the South Side
Over the winter, stories were collected from community members at story circles at Dunedin High Rise, the Neighborhood House, and El Burrito. Story circles included casual conversation, questions that trigger memories, cultural mapping, writing exercises, and other theater games. Then Al Justiniano of Teatro del Pueblo weaved these stories into what is now West Side on the South Side, with Ben Krywosz and Nautilus Music-Theater serving as project dramaturgs and consultant. Becky Dale composed an original score to accompany the show, and life-long West Side artist Craig David is designing the set. Harry Waters Jr. is directing the cast of 25+ community members and professionals alike.
