The Red Viper's Feast

The Guild of Cookery proudly presents The Red Viper's Feast!

The Red Viper, Prince Oberyn Martell captivated us in Game of Thrones season 5 and the novel A Storm of Swords. Now it is time for us to serve a feast in his honor! Taken directly from George R.R. Martin's A Dance with Dragons, this 7 course feast will offer our first foray into the exotic foods of Dorne.

Dorne is a land of mystery and intrigue. Lust and vengeance, fiery tempers and cold-hearted deception are the bread and butter of the Dornish people. Like the people themselves the food and wine are studies in contrast. Fiery peppers harmonize with subtle, sweet sauces. Citrus, honey, olives, cheeses, and chickpeas play major roles in this cuisine which so closely relates those of the Spanish Mediterranean.

The menu will be as follows:
1. Zanzarelli (A Medieval version of Stracciatella, a sort of Italian egg drop soup.)
2. Roasted Green Peppers Stuffed with Cheese and Onions
3. "Lamprey" Pie (An Eel and Spinach Pie will be served in place of Lamprey.)
4. Honey Roasted Hen
5. Poached Catfish with Garlic Sauce
6. Snake Stew with Blood Orange and Hot Peppers
7. Sugar Skulls Filled with Plum and Cherry Custard

Drinks will be sold a la carte and will include beer, wine, and mead. Come in costume and receive a free drink!
