She, After
She, After is a one-woman opera detailing the lives of Nora from a Doll's House and Alice from Alice in Wonderland after their stories on paper have ended.
Act I Nora in the Great Outdoors
Described as "the door slam heard around the world", the ending to Ibsen's "A Doll's House" paved the way for feminist thinking for all the Noras of the 19th century. However, what happens after Nora slams the door? What runs through her head? How does she live with her decision? And more important, what comes next for a woman who has never had to stand on her own two feet? Nora in the Great Outdoors with music by Daniel Felsenfeld and libretto by Will Eno explores just that.
Act II Alice in the Time of the Jabberwock
Long after Alice falls down the rabbit hole, she finds she cannot escape Wonderland and is now going through menopause. She finds her strange companions less charming than she did as a child, and must confront what it is to age in a child's world. Alice in the Time of the Jabberwock has music composed by Daniel Felsenfeld with libretto by Robert Coover.
