Welcoming the Sabbath
Portland welcomes renowned Bay Area Jewish composer and "Torah of Awakening" teacher, Brian Yosef Schachter-Brooks with inspirational worship artist, Laura Berman for a Taize inspired Sabbath service.
"Awakening" is the experiential realization that you are infinitely more than the sum of your thoughts and feelings. Beneath the personality there is a radiant field of awareness - free from negativity and connected to the aliveness of the present moment. In this freedom, the blissful expansiveness of radical joy, love, and awe blossoms naturally.
Laura and Brian will take us on a journey through heart-centered chanting, and song, Hassidic wisdom tales of non-duality and deepening silence - all pointing you to the eternal truth of this moment, a shift into a direct knowing.
