Alphabet Baroque
Alphabet Baroque, the latest spinoff from the A-Zed Concerts, will be performing a concert entitled "All over the Map" on Friday June 13, at 8pm. The program will feature music from various European countries (and perhaps a South American surprise) ranging from the 15th to 18th centuries, played on treble viol, violin, viola da gamba, cello and harpsichord. From Germany, Buxtehude; from England, Purcell; from France, Marais; from Italy. The Players are Judiyaba, cello and treble viol, survivor of the SF Opera pit and currently teaching at SSU; Maria Caswell, violinist and violist with Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra and Sebastopol violin teacher; Gwyneth Davis, cello and viola da gamba, plays with Lamplighters and Eloquence String Quartet; Phebe Craig, harpsichordist with numerous groups in the Bay Area and keeps her students amused at UC Davis.
