Mike Block, Cello, and the Obscure Dignitaries in Concert
Lev Aronson Legacy Festival - Concert Series; Wednesday June 11th, 7pm SMU O'Donnell Hall
Described by Yo-Yo Ma as the "ideal musician of the 21st Century," Mike Block has played with some of the greatest performing artists on the planet including Lenny Kravitz, Bobby McFerrin, Yo-Yo Ma, and Mark O'Connor.
He is bringing his unique style of performance to the second annual Lev Aronson Legacy Festival that honors the former principal cellist of the Dallas Symphony and Holocaust survivor, Lev Aronson.
Mike will be joined on the second half of the concert by the Obscure Dignitaries, a Dallas based world music group that strives to create intricate, traditional, folk rhythms from around the globe.
Enjoy complimentary snacks and non alcoholic beverages provided before the show and at intermission, with beer available for purchase.
Mike Block will be announcing his selections from the stage which typically include original songs, as well as cello and vocal improvisations.
The event will be held in the beautifully intimate O'Donnell Hall in the Meadows School of the Arts building on the campus of S.M.U.
