Debriefing Skills
Presented by Ryan Mundorf, Excel Society
This workshop is intended to provide individuals working in the Human Services industry with the tools to provide effective debriefing after a critical incident. We will examine the impact of critical incident stress, importance of debriefing, team dynamics that may emerge from a critical incident, as well as the leadership roles and behaviours that support both the individual and the group in normalizing what has occurred. You will have the opportunity to discuss the significance of self-care, practice different debriefing approaches, and experiment with your own debriefing style. There will be a follow-up session available so that you may ask questions and discuss how you were able utilize your critical incident debriefing skills.
The follow-up session will be on June 27, 8:50 a.m. - noon at the Excel Academy.
