Dolly Wiggler Cabaret-MAY

The Dolly Wiggler Cabaret will be wild, weird and highly entertaining nights of short form puppetry for adults. The Dolly Wiggler Cabaret features the first ever workshop version of "Trunk Puppet", a new work in development by Old Trout Peter Balkwill and collaborators. There will also be performances by Alice Nelson and special guests, all sponsored by the Puppet Slam Network. Saturday night's show is followed by a band and studio party. The Cabaret will be held at Old Trout Puppet Studio, 4632 1 Street S.E.

Puppet Masters Join Forces

Calgary is a well-known hotbed of up and coming puppet masters. To acknowledge this fact, CAOS, Old Trouts, and WP Puppet Theatre are collaborating on two projects: the Dolly Wiggler Cabaret, and a hands- on creation workshop.

Take a thought-provoking workshop in collective puppet show creation, and showcase the brand new work onstage May 31 at the Saturday Dolly Wiggler Cabaret. The workshop starts May 26th and Spaces are limited. Go to www.wppuppet.com for information and to sign up.

Several puppetry groups from Alberta and the western provinces are working with CAOS, Old Trouts and WP to form a western branch of UNIMA, Union Internationale de La Marionette, a global puppet union. Puppets rule.
