SEPTEMBER DOWNPOUR: VIVA LAVINA
A gathering to celebrate the words and work of our Desi Queen, Lavina Jadhwani
On September 10th, the world lost a bright light. Lavina Jadhwani was a director, playwright, activist, advocate, and all around amazing human and friend. She was a beloved national theatre powerhouse who made a legacy out of creating safe and brave spaces, championing the rights of all beings, and rewriting the script of how the arts should look.
This world is a better place because of LJ.
For this month's Downpour, we will be gathering some of Lavina's beloveds to read her funny, romantic, and engaging adaption of EMMA.
There will be remembrances of Lavina shared throughout the night, as well as space at the end to honor her in community together.
Whether you knew Lavina or not, we invite you to join us for this special night and be moved to laughter and tears by the spirit of our Desi Queen.
***All proceeds from the night will be donated to the foundation being created in Lavina's name.***
