Azure Family Concerts
Presented by the Tetra String Quartet, these free, one hour Azure events are fun, friendly, and engaging performances where families of children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) or other sensory processing disorders can enjoy live concerts.
Azure concerts are approximately one hour in length. Family members and caregivers of all ages are welcome to attend! This performance will feature singer/songwriter AJ Odneal and will be followed by an instrument petting zoo.
Children with sensory processing disorders may struggle to interpret input from their eight senses; the three lesser-known senses being proprioceptive, interoceptive, and vestibular. These processing challenges can impact impulse control and social awareness. Children with ASD also behave, communicate, and interact with people in ways different from most. These differences may include vocalizations, uncontrollable body movements or overall impulse control challenges. These behaviors pose challenges for families wanting to attend concerts for fear of disturbing others. Azure Family Concerts are curated performance experiences created for an all-inclusive audience of ALL people and behaviors. Parents can relax knowing that all behaviors are welcome and their children are entirely accepted.
All behaviors are welcome!
