The Blue Lamp feat. Musical Charis, Mark Sexton Band and Joanna Borromeo
On may 16, three bands will converge on The Blue Lamp for a showcase that will go down in history as one of the greats.
Musical Charis: Retro-Inspired Folk Rock darlings of Sacramento, CA attribute their signature male/female vocal stylings to a modern Fleetwood Mac, with a family-style vibe comparable to the eclectic culture of the Grateful Dead. Their live show is like slamming poprox and soda while cuddling up with a Dr. Suess book as audience members are encouraged to participate with drums, tambourines & sing-a-longs. With 5 albums and several national tours under their belt, Musical Charis is a tall drink of water in a dry spell of musical monotony.
Joanna Borromeo: Singer/pianist Joanna Borromeo is on the verge of breaking out on the music scenes of soul, jazz and R&B. Hailing from Canada, this incredibly talented JUNO Award Nominee is an artist you won't want to miss.
Mark Sexton Band: BAND OF BROTHERS: From the wild deserts of Reno, Nevada, Mark Sexton Band is a trio of music renegades, known for viciously executed soul compositions, and white-knuckle-driving funk. Accompanied by the commanding rhythm section of Alexander Korostinsky on bass and Dan Weiss on drums, deep at the core prowls the even-tempered genius of Sexton himself.
