Normally it is the choreographer who initiates a works creation, auditions and hires dancers, rehearses them and gathers the necessary funds to bring the work to fruition. We are shifting the paradigm of who initiates the creation process of new choreography by bringing the artistic vision into the hands of the dance performer. By providing autonomy and funding we are giving the dancers an opportunity to shape their own dance career and goals by choosing an artist to work with. We ask, what kind of work would be created under the dancers' initiation?
