The Foundations mission is to fund research into possible cures, improved treatments and support for patients who suffer from those diseases, their families and their caregivers to help improve their quality of life. Light of Day - the concerts and the organization - grew from a birthday party and fund-raiser held in 1998 at the Downtown Cafe in Red Bank to celebrate the 40th birthday of artist manager and music industry veteran Bob Benjamin, who was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 1996.
Since its inception in 2000, Light of Day has raised over $3 million in the fight to find a cure for Parkinsons disease. What began as a single concert in New Jersey has grown into approximately seventy shows in thirteen countries on 3 continents including North America, Europe and Australia!
Making Dublin their final pit stop of a 14 gig European Tour, through 9 countries, featured musicians this year include; Joe DUrso, James Maddock, Rob Dye, Williams Honor and special Irish guest, Ben Reel.

James Maddock Bio: A rock & roll lifer, James Maddock has been carving his unique path since the 1980s, when the New York City based, British-born singer/songwriter kicked off his career with a raw, soulful voice; a storyteller's sense of narrative; and the ability to blur the lines between folk, classic pop, and rock.
Since his early days in London, he's ridden the wave of a music industry that's ebbed, flowed, peaked, and crashed. Maddock has stayed afloat throughout the entire ride, enjoying a brush with commercial success during the late 1990s - including a major-label record deal, a Top 5 AAA radio hit, and a song placements on major TV Series - before transforming himself into an independent solo artist during the decades that followed.
After fronting the Columbia Records band Wood, whose debut Songs From Stamford Hill was featured prominently on TV shows such as Dawsons Creek, Maddock moved from England to New York City in 2003. His 2009 album Sunrise On Avenue C won a New York Music Award for Best Americana Album, while the follow-up Wake Up And Dream ranked among the top albums of 2011 in WFUV's (NYC) Listener Poll. With the release of Another Life (2013) and a 5 further albums over the following 7 years, two of them created over the Corona Virus pandemic - No time to Cry (2020) and Little Bird in the Neighbourhood (2021) - which garnered critical acclaim and extensive radio play. His latest release in 2023 Night Work is a beautiful collection of songs reminiscent of The Eagles and Credence Clearwater Revival - no imitation, simply landing effortlessly in the space between. Recorded with close musical friends including Steve Jackson (drums) and James OMalley (bass) from his days in the band Wood. As well as Aaron Comess, Drew Mortali, Ben Stivers, Brian Mitchell, James Hallawell, Jack Daley, Heather Hardy and Olivier Durand. Mixed by the great Dave ODonnell (Keith Richards, James Taylor, John Mayer). Amongst the first reviews, Dan French from Point Blank wrote - Jamess remarkable talent for capturing the kaleidoscope of life in superbly crafted, heartfelt songs - ranging in mood from poignant heartbreak to upbeat joy, with the promise to nourish your spirit. James Maddock continues to demonstrate why many consider him to be one of the best singer/songwriters working today.
As a songwriter, James had three songs co-written with Mike Scott on the Waterboys album Modern Blues (which appeared in the Top 50 on the UK Albums Chart) and a co-write with Gary Barlow (Actress) on Barlows album (2X Platinum). Songs from Another Life have been featured on NBCs Parenthood and ABC Familys Switched at Birth. Maddock is a constant live presence in the U.S. and Europe.
Williams Honor is the Jersey Shore's first ever country duo. Their first performance on stage was in Asbury Park with Bruce Springsteen.
After releasing their debut album and having their first top 30 radio single "No Umbrella, they circled the country with radio and tv appearances while doing direct support slots for Old Dominion, Lee Brice, Trace Adkins, LeAnn Rimes, LoCash, Jessie James Decker, Eric Paslay, Logan Mize, John Eddie, Tony Jackson, and Natalie Stovall (of Runaway June) and ended up performing at Madison Square Garden opening for fellow Jersey neighborhood heroes Bon Jovi.
While making their second album and pivoting during the pandemic, The Willi Ho Show, their weekly livestream, became Pollstar's #24 Year End International Livestream of 2020. Their newly released sophomore effort, "eX" is an empowering Jersey Country breakup album, and is available now to download and stream everywhere.
They have created a unique sound all their own, and define Jersey Country, bringing together the roots and evolution of the genre while mixing it with the grit of their hometown influence. Imagine Carrie, Miranda, Carly, Dolly as if backed up by The E Street Band, The Stones, or Aerosmith with lots of big harmonies and rock and roll energy. The new single, "Can't Wait 2 B Ashamed" is out now. Video: www.wsmv.com/video/2023/06/07/williams-honor-performs-cant-wait-2b-ashamed/ ---- For everything WH: https://linktr.ee/williamshonor
Rob Dye: Music has always been a part of New Jersey native Rob Dyes life. He logs over 150 shows a year, whether its as a duo or with a band playing covers along the Jersey Shore to touring the country and overseas. With feet firmly planted in the rich landscape of American musics roots, Dyes music incorporates elements of rock, old school country, Stax-influenced R&B, gospel and more while remaining true to the essence of each style.
Ben Reel: Since his debut album `This Is the Movie back in 1999, Ben has reinvented himself from album to album, influenced by different styles of music over the years. As one critic said, " He's not afraid to throw in some in folk, soul, reggae vibes, which in turn call to mind John Hiatt at his best". Another describes him as somewhere in the middle ground between rock and jazz or a sound that is sometimes reminiscent of Dylan and the Band.
