Family Planning by Julia Edwards - HOLLYWOOD

Performed in four houses in four Los Angeles neighborhoods over four weekends, FAMILY PLANNING centers around Hamish and Olivia, a couple having the worst fight of their marriage among a houseful of guests. The play explores such topics as marriage, miscarriage, fertility treatments, and the trend of starting families later in life.

Audience members are invited to experience the play inches away from the action. Seats are sprinkled between furniture in a real living room setting. The audience follows as scenes move from the living room to the kitchen and back. After the final moments of the script are played out the second act begins with a reception in the kitchen where the audience, cast, and artistic staff can continue the conversation about our cultures response to infertility.
