Rick Smith, along with Paul Dyster and others, put together the first Boom Days celebration in 2001. Its our regions unique way to be thankful for the end of our strong winter and welcome spring, Smith said. Were going to toast spring, see some fantastic bands, launch the boom ball, watch fireworks, and have a blast!
The day-long, family-friendly event will feature: - Live performances by The Barroom Buzzards, Yellow Jack, and Captain Tom & The Hooligans; - The launch of the boom ball from the Edward M. Cotter Fireboat (weather-permitting) and a toast to spring with Flying Bison Brewing Co.; - A parade through the grounds of Silo City with The Brass Machine; - An interactive celebration of spring on the Silo City great lawn with Hawk Creek Wildlife Rehabilitation, Buffalo Niagara Waterkeeper, WNY Book Arts Center, and more; and - Fireworks to conclude the event.
Boom Days is sponsored by Rigidized Metals, Lyceum at Silo City, Flying Bison Brewing Co., The Big Easy in Buffalo, and Skylighters.
