Queen of the East
The year is 32 BCE.

Egypt is in ruins corrupted by three centuries of male tyranny.

Until Cleopatra VII, the last Queen to ever rule Egypt, fixed her eyes on the empire.
A faraway Ancient Egyptian adventure of music, mythology, and misleading puppets. Join history's most legendary leaders, Cleopatra VII, Julius Cesar, and Marc Antony, on a voyage of discovery, whose story can we trust, and whose lives must be lost?

This award-winning, family-friendly musical is a DoDo DRAMATICS original, performed as part of this year's Bath Fringe Festival. DoDo DRAMATICS is the UK's first zero-waste puppetry performance company, distinctive for our ambitious up-cycled set design. As a young and diverse new company, we create accessible, educational, and sustainable theatre for everyone to enjoy.

"A contagious and promising trio! Their charming 'zero-waste' aesthetic drew in a diverse audience." Martin, Queen of the East - 2022

"DoDo Dramatics' fresh and irreverent take on stories & characters you think you know will have you laughing out loud. Playful, engaging & loads of fun, this is beautifully realised work for all ages." - Dr. Helen Grime, Queen of the East at HatFair 2022

Witty, well-informed and unlike anything I've seen in outdoor Arts"- Anna, Mock the Greek, Chichester Fringe 2021

"These Puppets have lost their marbles. Their personalities are brought to life by good movement and voice work"- Louise Pen, Mock the Greek (film) Brighton Fringe, 2021

"Queen of the East was thoroughly entertaining, with lashings of historical knowledge and plenty of laughs. The performances of all three actors were witty and took you right back to ancient Egypt, with the help of creatively-built props using recycled materials. The play is aimed at children but was a joy to watch for both youngsters and adults." -Rebecca, Queen of the East, HatFair, 022

"The music and puppetry never disappoint. I left knowing more about the life of Cleopatra...extremely visually interesting and funny. - Michelle, Queen of the East, HatFair 2022
