Elements - Angel City Chorale Spring Concerts
Angel City Chorale (ACC) will reunite with Composer Christopher Tin at its upcoming spring concerts, Elements, on Saturday, June 7, and Sunday, June 8, 2014, at 7:00pm. The concerts will feature the West Coast Premiere of Tin's new song cycle, The Drop that Contained the Sea and will be held at the Wilshire United Methodist Church in Los Angeles. The much-anticipated follow-up to Tin's Grammy Award-winning album, Calling All Dawns, the new work is based on ancient texts about water. Conducted by ACC Founder and Artistic Director Sue Fink.

Christopher Tin, Composer
American Composer Christopher Tin is a two-time Grammy Award-winner. His work covers diverse terrain: from thrilling fusions of orchestral and world music to brooding reinventions of '90s electronica, to award-winning scores for film, video games and commercials. His classical crossover album, Calling All Dawns, was released in 2009. Hailed by critics as a masterpiece, Calling All Dawns won two Grammys at the 53rd Grammy Awards for "Best Classical Crossover Album," and "Best Instrumental Arrangement Accompanying Vocalists" for the song "Baba Yetu," which made history as the first video game theme to win a Grammy. The song was originally composed in 2005 for the theme song to the legendary Civilization IV video game. Tin's music has been performed live by the National Symphony Orchestra, the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, Philharmonia, Metropole Orchestra and thousands of amateur ensembles around the world. He currently lives in Santa Monica, CA. www.christophertin.com

Sue Fink, Founder and Artistic Director
Sue Fink is Angel City Chorale's founder, artistic director, and conductor. Her dynamic energy can be seen and felt in the unique spirit and spontaneity that distinguish this choir from other choral groups.

Sue graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of California, Los Angeles, where she studied conducting with Roger Wagner.

She toured internationally as a member of the Roger Wagner Chorale, and went on to establish the Oriana Renaissance Ensemble and the Los Angeles Women's Community Chorus, serving as conductor for both groups prior to founding Angel City Chorale.

In addition to maintaining a private voice studio in Los Angeles, Sue composes and arranges for choral organizations and writes songs for television and movie soundtracks.

As a singer-songwriter, Sue has released two critically acclaimed albums, one of which received an award of excellence from the National Association of Independent Record Distributors (NAIRD).
