The Second Annual Feast of Saint Arnold June14, 2014
Hey, I'm Arnold (not that Arnold), SAINT Arnold, patron Saint of Beer. Join my friends and me on June 14, for my Feast Day on the sprawling, historic grounds of Chapel of Our Saviour, located in the Broadmoor neighborhood of Colorado Springs. It will be a "Festival celebrating Colorado's lifestyle and culture," benefitting Westside CARES! The Festival will, of course include beer. . . . And Colorado wine. . . And much, much more, like a family interactive fun zone for all ages!
"In my day people everywhere were dying from plague caused by the bad water, so I stirred the brew kettle with my crucifix and exclaimed, "don't drink the water, drink the beer!" They got well . . . . . . .and happier too!"
Admission fee includes tastings from more than twenty Colorado breweries, wineries, and distillers who will serve samples of their products. Continous live music, tours of the century old estate (if these walls could talk), Kid's Zone and locally prepared artisan food will complement the day's activities.
A 5K/10K Family Walk (Volksmarch) through the prestigious Broadmoor neighborhood, sponsored by The Colorado Springs Walking Club, will begin the Feast day morning. Register for this event by emailing Lynette at lynwalks@hotmail.com
The Feast of St. Arnold will benefit Westside CARES, whose mission is to provide care and compassion to neighbors in need. These neighbors, the most vulnerable in our communities, most who live on the edge financially, receive emergency assistance food, clothing, shelter, transportation, and medical assistance from Westside CARES.
Guests are invited to comes as families. Planned children's activities and events will be on-going throughout the day.
Located on the historic grounds of the Chapel of Our Saviour Episcopal Church in Colorado Springs, CO, this beautiful former estate was built in the 1920's and is in the heart of the Broadmoor area. With Cheyenne Mountain as a backdrop, the private wooded grounds encompass two city blocks and are surrounded by brick walls and iron gates. A Spectacular Setting!
