Verselandia 2014!
Where: Gerding Theatre at the Armory on 128 NW Eleventh Avenue, Portland, Oregon 97209

Verselandia 2014! is the third high school poetry slam presented by Literary Arts. It is the Grand Slam for the winners from individual school slams hosted by Portland high school library media specialists.
The top two slam poets from Benson, Cleveland, Franklin, Grant, Jefferson, Lincoln, Metropolitan Learning Center, Madison, Roosevelt, and Wilson High Schools will be competing for five great prizes.
Verselandia has the same rules as national poetry slams: students' poetry must be original work, each performance cannot exceed three minutes, and poets cannot use any props, costumes, or music. Verselandia judges use a scale of one to ten, rating both the writing and the performance.
Please note that some high school poets address adult content and themes.
