PoMo ArtsFest - Festival Gala & Reception
PoMo ArtsFest Gala Reception presents an evening of Jazz, Soul, Latin & Classical Pop. Featuring: Kristian Alexandrov (piano), Shannon Gaye (vocals/percussion), Jens Lindemann (trumpet), Joel Fountain (drums) & Ben Harries (bass).
7pm/Catered reception (event sponsor Christine Catering Company; 8pm/Performance.
Jens Lindemann, who played lead trumpet with the renowned Canadian Brass, is one of the world's most exciting trumpet soloists, and was recently named "International Brass Personality of the Year" by the Brass Herald. - "The trumpet is capable of being played with the virtuosity of a violin, the tenderness of the human voice and the stylistic flexibility of the piano. It allows me an endless range of communication with audiences." He has played in every major concert venue in the world - it is indeed a privilege to welcome Jens to the Inlet Theatre.
Kristian Alexandrov has firmly entrenched himself in the Canadian music scene since moving to Canada from Bulgaria in 1995. An active composer, accomplished pianist and world-class performer, producer, clinician and studio musician, he is an artist of exquisite talent, unmatched artistic passion and is a world class live performer.
Shannon Gaye is a percussionist and singer, performing her own brand of R&B and Soul - urban music with matter for the mind. From the most delicate melodies to sky high, roof-raising licks, Shannon is in full command of her voice. Music writer James Muretich described her as "the slender singer with the big soulful voice the kind that knocks you for a loop." Shannon has performed her compelling brand of Acoustic Soul at festivals and theatres across the country. Her songs have been featured in TV series and films in Canada, the U.S. and the U.K.
