Take an exciting and romantic tour of Union, Chestnut & Fillmore Sts., the Marina, Palace of Fine Arts, Marina Green, Crissy Field and beyond.
Meet near the entrance to the Beach Hut Cafe on the eastern end of Crissy Field. Plenty of free parking here. 1199 East Beach-Presidio, San Francisco, CA. Save some time by having breakfast here and enjoy the Bay views inside or out on the patio.
(We'll be walking about six miles on level or downhill grades. (We'll end, back down the hills, where we left the cars.) Wear something you can take a long walk in and are comfortable and supportive.)
Once we meetup we'll park the cars at Crissy Field. Then hop into a Van and drive to the starting point of the tour, in Lower Pacific Heights, visiting places including Swedenborgian Church, and the Victorians and Art Deco buildings in the area.
Then Union St., and the interesting shops and boutiques, old school Perry's, and Friday nights, infamous Triangle.
We'll take a lunch break for a great salad at Pluto's on eclectic Chestnut St. and then onto the Marina neighborhood, Palace of Fine Arts, Marina Green and back to Crissy Field and the cars, for a final scenic stroll along the Bay.
(If you have time, get together with new friends afterward, to try out a great restaurant in the area.)
This is a classic day, in San Francisco's most dreamy, romantic and magical area.
General George Washington may have slept in many Inns back east, long ago; but once upon a time, Lauren Bacall and Humphrey Bogart sleep here.
