The class of 2025 invites you to their production of UNCLE VANYA by Anton Chekhov.
Thursday, February 15 4:00pm Friday, February 16 6:00pm
This intimate performance will take place in Hazel Hall at Seattle Waldorf High School. Seating is limited; advanced tickets are strongly recommended. In Chekhov's classic 1899 dramedy UNCLE VANYA, a long-absent, ailing patriarch and his mysterious, young wife unexpectedly return from their life in the city, upending the steady rhythms of country life. Haunted by ghosts of the past, present, and future, these unhappy souls wait, talk, drink, philosophize, and reachwith increasing desperationfor a "new kind of life." Laden with subtext and unspoken meaning, Chekhov's revolutionary plays laid the groundwork for contemporary Realism in drama and film, and UNCLE VANYA in particular is surprisingly forward-looking in its environmentalist themes.
Some mature themes; recommended for ages 12 and up.
Tickets are sliding scale, $0-20.
