Day of Percussion Saturday, February 15, 2014 Auditorium, Vancouver Community College (Broadway Campus) 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. $10 general, $5 students and seniors
Danny Tones and Fringe Percussion are pleased to present Vancouver's first Day of Percussion. Hosted by Vancouver Community College, this day-long event celebrates the world of percussion and features clinics and performances by some of Vancouver's finest percussionists.
Clinics Jazz Vibraphone with Timothy Van Cleave Orchestral Percussion with Vern Griffiths Brazilian Samba with Nick Apivor and Drum Syndicate
Plus, local professionals and student ensembles from UBC, Kwantlen Polytechnic University, Trinity Western University and Douglas College will perform music by Owen Underhill, Bob Becker, Giovanni Solimma, and many others.
This event is open to anyone who has an interest in percussion including high-school and post-secondary students, teachers, and percussion enthusiasts of all ages.
Schedule 10:00 a.m. - Welcome and Performance by Fringe Percussion 10:30 a.m. - Jazz Vibraphone Clinic with Timothy Van Cleave 11:30 a.m. - Orchestral Percussion Clinic with Vern Griffiths 12:30 p.m. - Lunch 1:30 p.m. - Mid-day Concert 3:00 p.m. - Brazilian Samba Clinic with Nick Apivor and Drum Syndicate 4:00 p.m. Wrap-up and see you next year!
